Diabetes Prevention
Diabetes prevention comes especially during the diagnosis of pre-diabetes and type 1 diabetes. In preventing diabetes, the steps can be divided into physical activity and healthy diet. Diabetes prevention is important considering that it helps to ensure the normal function of insulin and the effectiveness of its function. It also makes sure that the body resumes its normal function and even get into a better shape.
One important aspect that was mentioned earlier is through physical activities. Mentioning physical activities, you might immediately think of jogging half dead around the tracks. It’s actually not as hard as it seems to be. To start with, you can try walking. Walking for 30 minutes per day actually beats running in the ,ost logical reason possible. For beginners, running might be very tiring and after running, you might not have adequate energy left to do other activities. Moreover, if let’s say you have a 30 minutes running target time, you might only be able to run for 15 minutes or less because your body is still not accustomed to heavy exercises. Your body is also not prepared and might even cause injuries such as sprain. Furthermore, a failed first try will de-motivate you and most likely you won’t go jogging the next day. And so, jogging is a good way to start your diabetes prevention program. If you don’t feel like going out of the house, you might consider physical activities that you can do anytime and anywhere. For example, try parking your vehicle some distance away from your destination. Then, you can walk there. You can also consider climbing the stairs instead of taking the lift. In the house, do some house chores instead of hiring a housekeeper to do them. Doing house chores ensures that you got all your muscles and bones working and even sweat a little bit. Furthermore, you can save a lot of money by doing the house chores yourself.
Another aspect of diabetes prevention is that you should have a healthy diet and maintain diet all the time. In fact, a healthy diet is very crucial considering that you need food to supplement your cells’ energy need but at the same time you have to monitor your food intake to make sure your blood glucose level is maintained at the safe level. Start with healthy regular meals daily and not skipping meals so that your body is accustomed to your diet. You can also try having small meals instead of having 3 heavy meals everyday so that your body’s metabolism system works more efficiently while supplying adequate energy the whole day. In preventing diabetes, you should follow the food pyramid strictly. Just keep your fat intakes at a minimum while eating more fresh fruits and whole grains. Your personal nutritionists should be able to plan a healthy diet plan for you.
There are many ways to prevent a diabetes and even pre-diabetes. All the ways above are just a basic part in diabetes prevention plan. The most important thing is to enjoy your life healthily and keep a positive outlook on life.
